Founded in September 1998, CRUD (Center for Rural and Urban Development) was established to break the cycle of poverty and inequality by providing essential healthcare, education, and livelihood opportunities. What started as a small initiative has grown into a transformative force, impacting thousands of lives over the past 27 years.
Healthcare remains at the heart of our mission. We have provided primary healthcare services to over 400,000 individuals, ensuring access to quality medical care for the most vulnerable. Our comprehensive eye care programs have reached 350,000 people, with 9,000 eye surgeries performed, including 5,600 cataract procedures that have restored vision and renewed hope.
Beyond healthcare, we empower individuals with the skills to build a better future. We have trained 1,150 people, including 550 village midwives, 400 village doctors, and 200 individuals in computer skills, creating pathways out of poverty and fostering sustainable change.
CRUD is registered with the Ministry of Social Welfare and the NGO Affairs Bureau of Bangladesh, ensuring transparency and accountability. Our holistic approach addresses immediate needs while laying the foundation for long-term, community-led transformation.
As we look ahead, our commitment remains strong. We aim to expand our reach, strengthen our impact, and empower communities. With the support of partners and donors, we strive to create a world where every person has the opportunity to thrive, free from poverty and inequality. Together, we can build a future of hope, dignity, and endless possibilities.
